Merc SLK 55 AMG launched

Mercedes Benz today launched the new SLK 55 AMG in India at a price of Rs 1.26 crore(ex-showroom Delhi).
The SLK 55 AMG is powered by a 5.5-litre V8 engine that puts out a massive 416bhp. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The 55 AMG's engine comes mated to an AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic automatic transmission that has three driving modes - Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M).
The transformation to an AMG for this Mercedes too is similar to what we've seen. So it gets the AMG body kit, 18-inch AMG wheels, AMG sport seats, basically the works. Apart from being a hardtop convertible whose metal roof stows into the trunk, the SLK also features the Magic Roof sunroof. The Magic roof allows the occupants to change the darkness of the roof to control the amount of light being let into the cabin. So, if it's hot outside with a scorching sun, the roof can be darkened to make sure the cabin does not get overtly affected by the heat.
The SLK joins what Mercedes India refers to as their 'Dream Cars' lineup. This includes other iconic and niche cars such as the CLS, C63, E63, G63 and the SLS supercar. Mercedes Benz India has been up on their toes this year with launches spanning across their car portfolio. Should we expect more? Yes, we should be looking forward to a major announcement in the coming days.
