Maruti Suzuki Swift Limited Edition Launched; Priced From Rs. 5.44 Lakh

- The current generation Maruti Swift is nearing the end of its life-cycle
- Engine options continue to remain the same 1.2 petrol and 1.3 diesel
- The new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift will arrive at the Auto Expo 2018
The current generation Maruti Suzuki Swift has been one of the most popular cars in India and the model is all set to receive a generation change next year when the all-new model will make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo. With the model nearing the end of its life-cycle, the Indian auto giant has silently introduced a new Swift Limited Edition variant in the market. The limited edition Maruti Suzuki Swift is priced at Rs. 5.45 lakh for the petrol version, and Rs. 6.34 lakh (all-prices, ex-showroom Delhi) for the diesel version. The hatchback gets a host of cosmetic enhancements and feature upgrades on the limited edition model.
Interestingly, the Maruti Swift is not succeeded by a fancy limited edition name like some previous versions out there. This time you get new decals across the bonnet, doors and roof; while the cabin has been spruced up with matching seat upholstery and steering wheel to match the exterior decals.
Maruti has also added a touchscreen infotainment system from the likes of the Baleno, Ignis and S-Cross into the Swift limited edition, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Bluetooth connectivity. The feature is certainly welcome, considering the limited edition model is positioned between the base LXi/LDi and mid-level VXi and VDi variants. The advert also lists speakers with extra bass and carpet mats as new features on the Maruti Swift Limited Edition.
Engine options remain the same with the 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines powering the hatchback. The petrol motor makes about 83 bhp and 115 Nm of peak torque, while the diesel makes 74 bhp and peak torque of 190 Nm. The car is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox on both engines.
The limited edition version can be seen as a last hurrah for the highly popular Swift. The car has time and again proved itself to be customer friendly with its sporty driving dynamics and frugal engines. The next generation model promises to take all of that a notch higher along with more equipment, better materials and newer engines. Maruti will be revealing the new generation Swift at the Auto Expo next year, and the limited edition model is a clever way to clear stocks of the current one.
