Marussia F1 Team's Cars And Equipment to Be Auctioned
Highlights
If you are a collector and have the kind of money 'collection' requires, here's your chance to acquire some pieces of F1 history in the form of Marussia Formula One team's race cars, race equipment, team trucks and spare parts. That's not all; the list of items up for auction also includes corporate offices, machine shop and computer servers.
Long story short, pretty much the entire team is set to be auctioned including the team's 2014 chassis and the model of its 2015 car. The power units and ancillaries have been left out since they are owned by Ferrari and have been duly returned to the Maranello-based company.
The auction, scheduled for December 16 and 17, follows the closure of the team's headquarters in Banbury. The Marussia F1 Team entered administration in October, before officially closing its doors earlier in November. The team missed the last 3 races of the 2014 Formula One season and failed to make it to the finale in Abu Dhabi, unlike Caterham - Marussia's rivals.
