Made-in-India Ford Figo Aspire, New-Gen Figo to Be Launched in South Africa
Highlights
Powering the petrol model of both the cars could be a 1.2-litre TiVCT, whereas the diesel could be a 1.5-litre TDCi. Both the aforementioned engines would also power the India-bound Figo Aspire. The transmission options, too, could be similar to the India-bound models - a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed dual clutch automatic.
Coming to the design, the new Figo hatchback shares its resemblance with its concept that was revealed in Brazil last year. The interior will be more upmarket than the existing model, as the company might position it as a slightly more premium product. The Figo Aspire, on the other hand, is an all new product both for the Indian and South African markets, as it will be the company's first sub-compact sedan.
Common features to be offered with both the cars will be automatic climate control, Bluetooth connectivity with Voice activation, MyKey, ABS (anti-lock braking system), Hill launch assist, ESP (electronic stability program) and dual front airbags, optional side airbags, etc. The Figo Aspire, on the other hand, will additionally get Ford's SYNC multimedia system and some other premium features offered on the EcoSport.
