Lamborghini has released a teaser image of the upcoming Huracan Super Trofeo. Well, it was about time anyway.

The Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo is finally retiring, and the teaser image indicates that the successor is on its way. The Huracan LP 610-4 Super Trofeo will be a track-only supercar and will keep the 5.2-litre V10 naturally aspirated engine of the road-going version that packs more than 600bhp.

Quite obviously, the Huracan Super Trofeo will be lighter and more aerodynamic, so expect extensive use of carbon fibre. The teaser image shows the car dressed in army camouflage and a heavily revised front fascia, which should increase downforce and offer additional cooling.

A lowered and stiffer sports suspension together with a stripped out cabin to shave off excess weight is how normally things go about in a Super Trofeo car and the Huracan will get the same treatment. The car is all set to compete in next year's Blancpain Super Trofeo series.
