Lamborghini Urus car&bike Expert Take
You don’t ease into the Lamborghini Urus Performante. You brace for it. The moment I floored it at the Buddh International Circuit, the surge felt violent, urgent, almost theatrical. Then, hours later, carving through the bends near Nandi Hills, the same machine felt sharp, planted, and unbelievably agile for something this tall. That’s when it hits you — this isn’t just a fast SUV. It’s a supercar that refuses to shrink itself for practicality.
“666 is said to be the devil’s number… and there is nothing angelic about this machine.” — Girish Karkera
And he’s right. With 657 bhp and a chassis that feels alive beneath you, the Lamborghini Urus doesn’t ask for permission. It demands commitment. You don’t drive it gently. You unleash it. This is not evolution. This is an escalation.

When you read this Lamborghini Urus Expert review, you’re not just getting first impressions. You’re getting perspective shaped by over 25 years of automotive journalism. Girish Karkera, Editor-in-Chief of carandbike.com since 2023, has tested everything from hot hatchbacks to hypercars, and he has served multiple times as a jury member for the World Car of the Year and Indian Car of the Year awards.
He experienced the Urus Performante where it belongs, flat out at the Buddh International Circuit and then pushed hard through the fast sweepers and tighter bends of Nandi Hills. That mix of track precision and real-world road testing tells you exactly what this Lamborghini Urus is about.
Pros
- Explosive twin-turbo V8 performance
- Razor-sharp track-ready handling
- Unmatched road presence
- Rear-biased AWD engagement
- Motorsport-inspired aerodynamic design
Cons
- Extremely expensive to own
- Firm ride in Corsa mode
- Fuel efficiency is poor
- Rear seat is not a priority
Verdict
The Lamborghini Urus Performante is the most extreme Lamborghini Urus ever made. It doesn’t soften its edges for comfort. It doesn’t dilute its personality for practicality. From the moment you launch it off the line to the second you dive into a fast corner, it feels alive and unapologetic. On track, it behaves like a supercar. On the road, it carries a presence that few vehicles can match.
“In performance guise, this Urus outshines itself.” — Girish Karkera
That sums it up. This version takes everything the Urus stood for and pushes it harder, sharper, and louder.
This is not an SUV pretending to be fast. This is a Lamborghini that refuses to compromise.

- The boot space is smaller than expected for such a large vehicle2.0S(Petrol)PerformanceMileageComfortCost of OwnershipValue for MoneySafetyStylingSales SupportWhile the Lamborghini Urus looks amazing and performs well in terms of speed and handling, it’s not the most practical SUV for everyday use. The fuel efficiency is terrible, and I find it too expensive to maintain regularly. The boot space is smaller than expected for such a large vehicle, and although the interior space is comfortable, it doesn’t justify the hefty price tag. The maintenance costs are sky-high, which makes it hard to justify as a daily driver.By KaranPosted on: Sep 24, 2024 12:38 PM00
- Phenomenal performance such a large suv4.0S(Petrol)I’ve had the Lamborghini Urus for a year now, and it’s a beast of an SUV. The engine performance is phenomenal, and the suspension keeps the ride smooth, even at high speeds. It’s an absolute head-turner with its stunning exterior design, and the interior space feels luxurious. However, there are some downsides. The fuel efficiency is expectedly poor, which isn’t surprising for a car of this caliber, but it does make daily use a bit costly. Also, while the boot space is decent, I find it slightly lacking for such a large SUV. The maintenance costs are also extremely high, so be prepared for that. It’s a fantastic vehicle if you can afford the running costs, but definitely not practical for everyday use.By Krishna PPosted on: Sep 25, 2024 10:03 AM00
- Perfect blend of luxury and power5.0S(Petrol)The Lamborghini Urus is a dream come true for any SUV lover. I’ve been driving it for over a year, and the engine performance is mind-blowing. The power this SUV delivers is incredible, and it handles like a sports car. The interior space is luxurious, and the seats are extremely comfortable, even for long drives. The safety features are top-notch, and the suspension does a great job handling high speeds on highways. Although the fuel efficiency isn’t great, that’s expected for a high-performance SUV like this. Overall, it’s a perfect blend of luxury and power.By KJ DavidPosted on: Sep 30, 2024 11:50 AM01
