The 50th year anniversary celebrations continue for Automobili Lamborghini as it presents its open racing prototype - the Veneno Roadster. Lamborghini says that only nine units will be built during the course of 2014 and sold at a price of 3.3 million Euros and that figure is sans tax.

It may look like a sharp samurai sword wanting to cut all the pedestrians into half but Lamborghini promises that it is completely street legal.

The entire design of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has been laid out for perfect airflow and downforce. A monocoque made from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer forms the basis of the Roadster. All exterior parts are made from CFRP. Carbon fiber dominates the interior of the Veneno Roadster as well.

The two lightweight bucket seats are made from Lamborghini's patented Forged Composite. The woven carbon-fiber CarbonSkin is used to clad the entire cockpit, part of the seats and the headliner. Like a hi-tech fabric, this extremely fine-looking carbon-fiber matting fits perfectly to any form and reduces the weight of the vehicle.

Under the hood, the Veneno gets a 6.5-litre, 12 cylinder engine which puts out 750bhp and tops out at 355km/h. The engine is mated to the slick ISR transmission with five modes, permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units. And because of the light weight construction, the Veneno can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 2.9 seconds.

Love it or hate it, you have to admit one thing that only Lamborghini could make something so outrageous, so fun and this is one reason why we all love their cars.
