Lamborghini Posts Record Sales for 5th Consecutive Year
Highlights
Italian supercar specialist, Automobili Lamborghini, has posted record profits for the 5th consecutive year in 2015. 2014 saw the company sell 2,530 units worldwide, a figure which rose to 3,245 last year marking a 28 per cent increase. This is the first time in the company's history that it has sold over 3,000 units in a single year.
Over the last couple of years, Lamborghini has enjoyed warm receptions for two of its most important models, first the Lamborghini Aventador and more recently the Lamborghini Huracan. The success that both cars have witnessed has driven the company's sales and has helped the company achieve a momentous milestone.

Speaking with regards to Lamborghini setting yet another record, Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., continued to highlight the company's plans for the immediate future. He said," In 2015 Lamborghini delivered an exceptional sales performance and new records in all key business figures, confirming the strength of our brand, product and commercial strategy. With the introduction of several new models in 2015 and a solid order bank we are well prepared for the year 2016."
The last 5 years have seen a sharp spike in sales for the Raging Bull. The 3,245 units sold last year is whopping 250 per cent improvement on the number of cars it managed to sell back in 2010. Today, the company has 135 dealers serving 50 countries around the world. Each of the three zones, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), US and Asia Pacific, account for around a third of global sales.

Winkelmann continued, "We increased sales in all our major regions with new sales records in America and Asia Pacific. Our biggest markets are the USA and Greater China. They are followed by Japan, UK, the Middle East and Germany, each of them registering considerable growth in 2015."
2015 also saw Lamborghini achieve its most successful year in terms of V10 sales thanks to the 10-cylinder Huracan LP610-4. In fact, the Huracan even managed to blow the numbers posted by its predecessor, the Gallardo, out of the water as in its first 18 months, the Huracan sold 70 per cent more units in contrast to what the Gallardo sold in its after-launch period. In its first year of full availability, 2,242 units of the Huracan were sold worldwide. The remaining 1,003 units sold included a combined total of both the bigger Aventador LP700-4 V12 (coupe and roadster) and the new Aventador LP 750-4 SV. Much like how the Huracan outsold its ancestor, the Aventador too outperformed the car it replaced i.e., the Lamborghini Murcielago. When comparing the sales performance of the now-retired Murcielago and the Aventador in their first 52 months after launch, the Aventador showed a 124 per cent increase over its predecessor.

The company launched 5 new variants in 2015 and has also confirmed the imminent arrival of the Lamborghini Urus Super Sports Utility Vehicle. The Urus is slated to roll out internationally in 2018 and will become the 3rd product in Automobili Lamborghini's portfolio. Not only is this new car expected to expand the company's horizons but will also warrant an increase in manufacturing capacity of the Lamborghini factory. Over the life cycle of the Urus, hundreds of millions of Euro will be invested into expanding infrastructure which is likely to create 500 new jobs.
