Lamborghini Huracan

Lamborghini had been tight-lipped about the successor of the Gallardo but there were enough and more spy shots that did the rounds to confirm that. Lamborghini has finally broken its silence and revealed the much awaited Gallardo's successor - the Huracan LP 610-4.

 

Under the hood, the Lamborghini Huracan receives a new 5.2-liter V10 engine uprated and heavily updated from the engine of Gallardo's. It produces a whooping 602bhp at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm of torque as high as 6,500 rpm. Consequently, the brand new Huracan can sprint from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, from 0-200 km/h in just 9.9 seconds and a top speed in excess of 325 km/h.

 

All the power is then sent to all four wheels via a brand new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Just like the Lamborghini Aventador, the new Huracan features three different driving modes - Strada, Sport and Corsa. Each of the different modes adjust the behaviour of the new transmission as well as the engine behaviour, sound, electronic stability control and the all-wheel drive system. Helping to bring the Lamborghini Huracan to a stop are carbon ceramic brakes as standard.

 

The Huracan comes in the form of a carbon fiber and aluminium built chassis helping to slightly reduce the Huracan's overall weight from the Gallardo to 1,422 kg. That results in a power to weight ratio of just 2.33 kg per horsepower. Another new feature of the Lamborghini Huracan is the standard Stop & Start.

 

Visually, the Huracan shares many of its design elements with the Aventador as well as the limited run Sesto Elemento. The new design has also seen the addition of new LED equipped headlights inspired by those on the Aventador. Obviously, every body panel of the Huracan has been changed when compared to the Gallardo.

 

Inside, the Huracan features a completely redesigned interior very similar to the Aventador's. As a result, it features a similar 12.3 inch full-colour TFT instrument panel providing all the key details to the driver. The new TFT display even showcases navigation and various infotainment functions. The interior is then covered in fine Nappa leather and Alcantara.

 

Starting next month, the Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 will be shown in over 60 cities around the world during over 130 private preview events post which it will make its debut at the Geneva Motorshow.
