Know All About World's Fastest RC Car
Highlights
Fast cars give people a sense of thrill that is unmatched. Imagine having a fast RC car that can go up to ridiculous speeds. There have been some very fast RC cars that have been developed by companies around the world. Different techniques are used by each of these companies to make their cars as fast as possible. Since the cars are remotely controlled, there is no risk of human injuries. But what is the fastest RC car in the world?
A 202mph Beast
The fastest RC car in the world is the 202mph RC Bullet. The inventor of this car is Nic Case. His biggest achievement? Getting his name etched in the Guinness Book of World Records for building this car!
Specifications Of The Car
One thing to note here is that the design is purposefully streamlined in order to reduce drag and allow the car to achieve insane speed. The specifications are:
- Length: 36 inches
- Width: 7 inches
- Wheelbase: 21 inches
- Weight: 12 lb
- Motor: 1875Kv
- Gearing: 75 x 34
- Radio Range: 1600 feet
- Horsepower: 12
Inside The Bullet
- Drive belts: There are two drive belts of lengths - 6mm and 8mm. These are typically used for small machines.
- Carbon-fiber wheels: Since the design is not a standard one, the tires are custom-made. The spinning speed of these tires is 23,000 RPM! The weight-to-strength ratio is perfect for the wheels, thus the success of the car.
- Lithium batteries: 12 5000mAh cells combined together to give the required horsepower to the car.
- Motor: Specialised NeuMotors that are generally used in RC planes are fitted in the car after some tweaks.
- Carbon-fiber chassis: Due to the weight, the car needs a rigid chassis. 3mm carbon fiber is used to make the chassis with special machining for the hubs and the axle.
- Power system: A Phoenix HV 110 was part of the original model, but that didn't serve the purpose. That was replaced with the Phoenix HV 140s.
- Antenna: A 400mm boat antenna was added to the receiver to ensure distance from the ground.
Body Of The Car
The body of the car is streamlined in such a way that the resistance against the car is reduced. The narrow design makes it easier for the car to cut through resistance. The body is made entirely of carbon fiber. A digital rendering was made initially, and then the model was made in real life.
Fateful Day
The day when the world witnessed the fastest RC car was October 25th, 2014. Accompanied by his wife, stepdad, and best friend, Nic Case made history. The car successfully broke the 202-mph barrier and created a world record!
