Hyundai i20 Active Crossover's Design Revealed

A couple of days back, leaked pictures of the upcoming Hyundai i20 based crossover went viral on internet. Now the company has officially released the design renderings of the car. To be called the i20 Active, the vehicle has been designed at Hyundai Motor's Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany, says the company.

Interestingly, the company has also revealed the launch plans of the i20 Active. This hatchback crossover will make its official global debut in India in March, 2015.

"The i20 Active adopts a 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language- completing a more sporty, sharper and bold look. The 'i20 Active', SUV appearance conveys athletic presence and aggressive side-profile rake," the company said in a statement.

"The car combines fun driving, a distinctive character and sporty refinement, with the enhanced practicality and quality," it added.

To give it a rugged look, the company will offer plastic cladding all around the body, bigger alloy wheels and a slightly increased wheelbase. The car's cabin might also sport some changes.

Though the company hasn't revealed the i20 Active's engine details and other specifications, it will most likely share its powertrains with the new i20.
