How To Prevent Your Engine From Overheating In Summer?

The scorching months of summer are almost here. While you may need your car's AC the most at this time, your car's engine is at risk too. The heatwaves are just as bad for the vehicle's engine as it is for you.
With the high temperatures, engine overheating is a common problem during the summers. Worry not! We've compiled a list of tips that can help you prevent engine overheating!
A Layer of Tint on Windows
You will realize the importance of having a window tint for your car during the summers. The film on windows does an excellent job of limiting the harsh UV rays and heat from heating the vehicle interiors.
You can also opt for window shades for your vehicle. This can prevent overheating if you don't find a shaded parking zone. It works perfectly for protecting your car from going extremely hot.

Keep the Windows Open
You might wonder how keeping the windows will help the car stay cool. If you keep your car closed and packed all time, it will trap an abundance of hot air, and the glasses will serve as a conductor.
Eventually, the temperature inside your car will rise and cause engine overheating. You can keep the windows slightly open, so the hot air has a channel to escape.
Operate on Fresh Air Setting
If you don't want your engine to overheat in the summers, switch the AC to fresh air for the first 15 minutes. Why? It is because recirculation mode on the air conditioner will move the trapped hot air in the car.
Use the recirculation mode once the vehicle is relatively cool. The temperature gauge should always point towards the centre. If it indicates a high temperature, stop the car and let the engine take a break.

Turn the Heat On
We understand – the last thing you want on a hot summer day is more heat. However, doing this will suck the hot air out of the cabin. Eventually, the engines will show a lower temperature reading. This tip might not save the car from the underlying issue, but it works great for long road trips.
Utilize an Engine Coolant
Every car owner should own an engine coolant for the scorching summer season. You can use the coolant reservoir to check the coolant level in your vehicle. The indicator lines on the pool tell you about the coolant levels. If the coolant level is below the mark, you need to add more coolant and adjust the levels. You will readily find engine coolants in auto stores. Also, avoid adding coolants to hot engines.

Make sure to keep an eye on the temperature gauge to prevent engine overheating. Hopefully, your car will do just fine this summer with these tips!
