How to Know When Your Car Needs New Brakes

Why Issues in Braking System Should Get Rectified with Immediate Effect?
If you ignore the early signs of poor performance of your vehicle's braking system, there might come a time when the braking system just gives up, and you might not be able to stop the car at the exact moment when you need it to stop. It can lead to a fatal accident, which always has adverse aftermath.
Common Signals of Issues Emerging in Braking System:
Most of the signs related to the issues in your vehicle's braking system can be detected whenever you apply your car's brake pedal. Following are those common signs which you should be aware of:
Loud Screeching Noise
If a loud screeching noise pops up whenever you apply brakes, it indicates that the brake pad has worn out to an extent that it is touching the metal part of your brake that's there to let you know about the situation.

Visible Signs of Wear and Tear
If you witness a possible sign of wear and tear of the brake pads between the spokes of alloy wheels, if your car is equipped with them, it is an early sign that your brake pads have started wearing to an extent of replacement. In such cases, the thickness of brake pads is usually less than a quarter inch.
Vibrations in Brake Pedal
When you apply your car's brake pedal, and it vibrates even at slower speeds, it signals that the rotors of the braking system are warped. In such cases, the rotors become thin due to continuous use of the brake pedal and require replacement.
Slower Response in Stopping
There comes a time when you want your car to stop quickly, but it fails to do so, as the stopping power of your car's brakes has reduced throughout usage. With continuous use, the stopping power of your car's brakes deteriorates due to gradual wear and tear of brake pads or a possible leakage in brake fluid. Identify the reason with the help of a mechanic and get it replaced or rectified.
The Car Pulls to One Side

When you apply the brakes of your vehicle, and it starts pulling towards one side, it shows that the brake pads on the wheel(s) of that side have worn out more than those on the other side of the car. There is a chance that the brake linings also might have worn out unevenly. Get the exact reason identified with the help of a mechanic.
