Honda Cars India is planning to increase its dealership network by 35 percent by the end of this financial year. The company is aiming to take its dealership number to 230 in 150 cities across the country from the existing 195 dealers in 127 cities. This announcement came from Jnasheswar Sen, senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) of the company during a press conference.

Riding on the success of the new-gen Honda City, Amaze and the Mobilio, the company registered an impressive growth of 48% during the April, 2014 - September, 2014 period. It sold a total of 88,200 cars in this period. Of the total cars sold by the company, North India contributes to more than 27% and HCIL is witnessing similar growth in the current fiscal too.

Honda, who is known for its dominance in petrol vehicles globally, believes that customers in India have started taking more interest in buying petrol vehicles again. This is probably because of the narrowing gap between the prices of diesel and petrol. However, all the three top-selling Honda cars - City, Amaze and Mobilio - still have more diesel buyers.
