Formula 1 Racers Who've Won The Driver's Championship Only Once

The drivers' championship is the world's biggest and most prestigious class of car racing. It is an extremely fierce competition filled with mind boggling speeds and powerful vehicles, enough to give you an adrenaline rush. Boasting of discipline and skill, the professional drivers and their crew make the event an absolute pleasure to watch. Only 34 drivers have won the championship over the years and some of them have won it multiple times. There are also some who have registered their names as one-time legends. Here is a list of such Formula One racers who have won the World Drivers' Championship only once:
Nico Rosberg

Nico Rosberg who drove for Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport won the world title back in 2016. After going head-to-head with his teammate and rival Lewis Hamilton for the whole season, Nico grabbed the title like a king. Five days post his win Nico announced his retirement to spend more time with his family and left on a high note. Nico has many notable wins under his name but none of them are as big as the world title.
Jenson Button

Jenson Button completed his life-long dream of winning the Drivers' Championship in 2009 after having an amazing season which is still remembered by many. He won the iconic season with Brawn GP, the team which was once owned by Honda. He joined the season with uncertainty after Honda left the sport in 2008 but came through with a big win.
Damon Hill

Damon Graham Devereux Hill was the son of Graham Hill who was also a racer and a two-time world champion. He joined Williams in 1991 as a test driver after which his career escalated leading to a world championship title in 1996. Soon after, he joined The Arrows before retiring three years later. Damon hill raced alongside some of the greatest names in racing history, and is known and respected for his accomplishments in the Drivers' Championship.
James Hunt

James Hunt was a very passionate racer and had even faced a lot of criticism in his early career. He had to conquer many personal demons to finally grab his win.
