The 488 Spider comes with a spaceframe chassis that is made of 11 different aluminium alloys combined with noble metals such as magnesium. The end result is that there is an improvement in torsional rigidity and beam stiffness and just like the 488 GTB, an improvement of 25% in chassis performance. Then there is the retractable hard top that folds backwards in two overlapping sections and it takes 14 seconds for the top to fully retract or deploy.
