Exclusive: Honda City Sport Edition Spied Ahead Of Launch

- Honda to launch new City Sport soon
- Gets blacked out grille, ORVMs and lip spoiler
- Features ‘Sport’ badging at the rear
Honda Cars India is all set to launch a special edition of its popular compact sedan, the Honda City. Ahead of its launch, which should take place in the coming days, we have received some exclusive images of the Sport Edition.

Like most special editions available in the market, the City Sport Edition primarily focuses on cosmetic enhancements. It features a variety of blacked-out elements, including the front grille, ORVM covers, and a lip spoiler on the boot, all finished in the same dark shade. A black strip along the edge of the bonnet further adds to the styling. Additionally, a ‘Sport’ badge is placed on the rear to distinguish this version from the standard models.
The interior complements the exterior and follows suit, with black finishes on upholstery and trim elements. Although not visible here, it could also feature Sport Edition embroidered on the seats, steering wheel, and headrests. However, what is visible is the red stitching used for the steering wheel to give it a sportier look.
The City Sport Edition will likely retain the existing 1.5-litre petrol engine, which churns out 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque. However, it remains to be seen if transmission options will include both a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT automatic. The spied model, however, gets the latter here.
In terms of pricing, the Sport Edition is expected to carry a premium over the standard model, which is currently priced between Rs 12.38 lakh and Rs 15.34 lakh (ex-showroom). Since such editions are typically based on the higher variants, the Sport Edition is likely to be based on the VX trim level and priced slightly higher than it.
