Sponsored: Book Your Renault Kwid AMT Exclusively At carandbike

- You can book the Renault Kwid AMT at Carandbike for Rs. 10,000
- The Kwid AMT comes with rotary dial instead of a regular shifter lever
- The Renault Kwid AMT goes up against Maruti Suzuki Celerio AMT
Renault Kwid AMT went on sale in India early this month, and with this the French carmaker has finally fulfilled its promise of introducing two new Kwid models in India this year. Both the newly launched Renault Kwid AMT and the Kwid 1.0-litre version were at the 2016 Auto Expo in February this year. Renault had announced that it will be launching the cars towards the second half of the year, and here they are. We have driven both the Kwid AMT and the Kwid 1.0-litre and surprisingly were quite impressed by both.
Currently, Renault is offering the AMT or 'Automated Manual Transmission' unit only with the 1.0-litre variant on the top-of-the-line RXT trim. This means all the mechanicals remain exactly the same, with the 999cc 3-cylinder engine churning out 67bhp and developing 91Nm of peak torque. Only now, along with the 5-speed manual gearbox you also get the option of an AMT unit.
Interestingly, instead of a conventional gear-shifter, the Kwid AMT gets a rotary knob to toggle between Drive (D), Neutral (N) and Reverse (R) modes. The Renault Kwid AMT will also carry the Easy-R badge at the rear, similar to that of the Renault Duster Easy-R but the gearbox is a different unit.
(Renault Kwid AMT rotary knob)The Renault Kwid's SUV-ish design and stance has proved to be a hit with the buyers. It gets a bootspace of 300 litres, which is more than enough for your weekend jaunts.
The Renault Kwid AMT can be booked exclusively on carandbike for a token amount of Rs. 10,000.
