Hero Electric will go ahead with its planned investment of Rs. 700 crore to develop new products, expand dealership network and increase production, despite the slowdown in the domestic auto industry.

The new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter goes on sale in January 2020 with deliveries to begin in Pune first followed by other cities. It will be produced at the company's Chakan plant.
