Ducati Scrambler Mike Hailwood Edition Introduced
Highlights
Ducati Thailand have introduced a limited edition of the 2016 Ducati Scrambler Icon, called the Mike Hailwood edition, to commemorate the 58th anniversary of Hailwood's first encounter with Ducati.
Priced at Thai Baht 6,99,000 (over Rs 13,00,000), the limited edition Ducati Scrambler is a fitting tribute to Stanley Michael Bailey Hailwood, considered one of the greatest motorcycle racers of all time. Hailwood won his first World Championship at the age of 21 and won 9 world championships, 76 Grand Prix wins and 14 TT races.
The Mike Hailwood edition Ducati Scrambler features the same 803cc, air-cooled L-twin, which produces 74bhp power and 68Nm of torque. The bodywork of the standard Ducati Scrambler has been used as a base for the bike, featuring unique graphics and styling and livery inspired by Hailwood's 1978 Isle of Man TT-winning Ducati 900SS.
A Termignoni exhaust, designed for the Monster 821, has been fitted to make the Scrambler emit a meatier exhaust note, and a custom retro headlight cowl gives the bike a '70s appearance. Additional custom body work include side panels and a rear cowl which features a commemorative Hailwood plaque.

The seat is also custom-made, and also gets an adjustable Ohlins rear shock as well as gold painted ten spoke alloy wheels - 18 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear, shod with Pirelli Angel GT tyres. And to make the bike feel sportier, the Hailwood Scrambler also gets a specially made handlebar and grips from a Panigale.
Only 58 units of the limited edition Scrambler will be made, and each bike comes with its own individual number inscribed on top of the seat cover, making it a unique collectable motorcycle.
