Royal Enfield is gearing up to introduce its much-awaited 650 twins globally next year, and we have told you the bikes will be going on sale in Europe first. Much to the anticipation of potential buyers in the UK, motorcycle dealer Millenium Motorcycles has opened the order books for the upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor and Continental GT 650 ahead of its launch in 2018. The bikes are set to go on sale in Europe by April 2018, and the dealership is accepting bookings for an amount of 100 Sterling Pounds (around Rs. 8500). The dealer estimates the pricing on the motorcycles to be about 6000 Pounds (around Rs. 5.14 lakh), on road. The new Interceptor and CGT 650 are the biggest motorcycles for the Chennai-based motorcycle maker and are expected to put the company on the global map in the middleweight segment.

Millenium Motorcycles further says that colours including Orange Crush, Ravishing Red and Silver Spectre will be available in the UK. The dealer is also offering low rate finance and delivery across the country. It is to be noted that Millenium is not a Royal Enfield outlet but a third party dealer and retails motorcycles from multiple brands under one roof.

After much anticipation, Royal Enfield unveiled the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 at EICMA earlier this year. The bikes also mark the use of RE's all-new 649 cc parallel-twin cylinder engine. The 270-degree crank SOHC, 4-valve, air-cooled motor with fuel-injection has been tuned to produce 47 bhp and 52 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes paired to a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch, while ABS will be offered as standard.

Royal Enfield CEO Siddhartha Lal confirmed to carandbike at the 2017 Rider Mania that the bikes will first go on sale in Europe, in a bid to match the riding season beforehand, while sales in India will commence soon after around the June-July period. The bike will be produced and sold in a phased manner and will be made available across all of RE's 750 dealerships by the end of 2018. The bike will also be exported to a number of markets globally.
