What's really special about the F-150 pick-up owned by Beckham is that the 2002 model is the rare Supercharged Harley Davidson Edition that was introduced in 2000 and lasted till 2011. There have been only a handful of celebrities who have owned this special edition F-150 and Beckham has been one of them. The pick-up came loaded with Twin I-Beam suspension for fully independent front suspension. In fact the F-150 comes powered by the original V6 engine. 2002 Harley-Davidson model sprinted from 0-60 mph in 6.2 seconds.
Surprisingly earlier this year, TV presenter and automotive enthusiast, Jay Leno, also auctioned his F-150 Harley-Davidson Edition. The 2000 model was the first of the 7,500 Harley-Davidson F-150s delivered that year and was given to Jay Leno by Ford US itself. The pick-up owned by Leno was powered by the optional 360bhp, 5.4-liter supercharged V8 from the high performance F-150 Lighting. Leno has owned the 4X2 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson edition ever since and was ready to part with it for charity with all of the proceeds going to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
But the list doesn't end here, among the celebrities who have auctioned their prized cars we also have TV legend, and Captain Kirk of Star Trek fame, William Shatner. The iconic actor auctioned two of his vehicles during the Palm Beach Auction - a 2002 Aston Martin DB7 Volante and his mint-condition 2004 Volkswagen Phaeton. Another celebrity auto enthusiast, Shatner is an avid collector and the DB7 Volante was a favourite of Shatner's and was driven only on special occasions by the actor.
"The sound of the exhaust, the ticking of the engine, the sleekness of the design have intrigued and entranced me. I look for cars like the ones I am selling: this great VW Phaeton - one of the most advanced cars in the world at its time - and this Aston Martin DB7, which is a jewel of design," Shatner said about his cars, which were to be auctioned by Barrett-Jackson in April.
