Nissan launched the Datsun GO last month and the company says that they have managed to sell 2072 units of the hatchback after just 10 days of its official launch. The company had been showcasing the car throughout the country to make people aware of not only the brand but also what the hatchback was all about.

We've driven the GO and we did like it although there is a lot of room for improvement. But overall, we felt it was a practical car for a country like India. Nissan had promised that the Datsun GO would be priced below the 4 lakh quadrant and that is exactly what they've managed to achieve.

The GO gets the 1.2-litre petrol engine that makes 68bhp making it the most powerful hatch in its price range. It also comes with some first-in-segment offerings like follow-me-home headlamps and USB and AUX-in.

What it fails to get is any safety equipment, even in the top-of-the-line range. Still, the GO manages to be a value-for-money proposition. It will be interesting to see how the GO performs in the coming months but Datsun is already gearing up for its next offering - GO+ MPV
