  • DAB Concept-E electric bike features premium components, easy performance
  • The French brand has not announced any production plans yet
  • The DAB Concept-E features carbon fibre chassis, Ohlins suspension

French motorcycle manufacturer DAB Motors has unveiled its new concept electric motorcycle, the DAB Concep-E. The prototype was developed with design house Outercraft, and uses a 10 kW (13.4 bhp) electric motor with a 51.8 V lithium-ion battery pack, providing performance comparable to 125 cc motorcycles. The company has not announced any claimed range for the electric bike, but it certainly looks modern and chic, and should offer a perfect option for the daily commute across the city. What the Concept-E however boasts of, are premium, top-spec components.

The DAB Concept-E features premium components, including carbon firbre chassis elements and Ohlins suspension

The bike gets bespoke suspension from Ohlins, with stopping power provided by CNC machined Beringer calipers on both front and rear wheels. An LED speedometer console is mounted up front, with the headlight sitting below a flat-track inspired board where the headlight is positioned in conventional designs. The bike sports carbon fibre chassis components and is a sort of a fusion between a modern roadster and supermoto.

The DAB Concept-E is unlikely to be in the affordable range, and so far, the firm has not disclosed any production plans and availability

A Gates belt drive has been used on the concept electric bike, with aluminium machined pulleys to maximise throttle response, while minimising noise. So far, though, it's still a concept, and how many of these premium components make it to a production model is anyone's guess, and if at all the firm is considering a production model based on this concept. Even then, the Concept-E is likely to be a premium electric bike, and as such, the firm has no known plans of introducing its bikes anywhere else outside of France for now, including India.
