Highlights

  • The buggy has a top speed of 45 kmph and has a range of 71 km
  • Citroen has also designed luggage which can fit inside the vehicle
  • It can be driven by teens above the age of 14 in Europe

Citroen's Ami EV is based on its old AMI buggy which has been reinvented with an electric powertrain. It comes with a number of practical appointments like wider knobby tyres, an LED light bar, and removable canvas doors. The buggy has mainly been the way for Citroen's designers to show off their chops by adding stylish attributes to assert backpacker personality if one goes by the words of the company.

The EV is a way for the Citroen engineers to flex their design sensibilities

It also comes with a removable nomadic speaker, a roof cap to protect against the sun, and a graphics package that includes the word pilot and 01 on the driver's seat and copilot and 02 on the passenger seat. It also offers memory foam seats, new storage bins on the dashboard, and even a range of luggage designed to fit perfectly into its interior spaces.

There are smartphone clamps, bottle holders, and all of these things were designed using 3D printing technology. The car can do a maximum speed of 45 kmph and 70.81 km thanks to its 5.5 kWh battery. It is also legal for teenagers who are older than 14 to drive in France and elsewhere in Europe.
Largely this is a way for Citroen's designers and engineers to show off their ingenuity.
