The Mumbai showroom is all set to be inaugurated on 12th April 2017 and will be the first official BMW outlet in India. The showroom is located in Andheri West on New Link Road, a stretch that already has a host of auto dealerships. Navnit Motors has been associated with BMW for a couple of years now and holds a host of car showrooms for the brand across the country. It was also privately importing BMW bikes for customers until now and had a dedicated sales team as well.

Meanwhile, Tusker Motorcycles in Bangalore is known for its two Harley-Davidson showrooms in the city. The upcoming BMW Motorrad showroom is opening up on Lavelle Road in Bangalore, next to the company's Harley outlet. With its years of experience in handling the American motorcycle brand, the brand should also be able to serve BMW customers well.

BMW Motorrad will start sales of motorcycles brought in as completely built units (CBU) at present with the range comprising the BMW S 1000 RR, S 1000 R, R nine T, R nine T Scrambler, K 1600 GTL, 1200 GS and the likes. The much-awaited BMW G 310 R, which would be its most affordable model on sale, has been delayed and is expected to arrive in India sometime in 2018. Rumour mills also suggest that the G 310 R could arrive as early as towards the end of 2017. However, there's been no confirmation of a launch date from BMW as yet. Once launched, the G 310 R will rival the KTM 390 Duke and is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
