We told you that BMW will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the M5 with a special edition and now the pictures of the car have been leaked through Bimmerpost ahead of its debut later this year.

As one can see in the picture, the 30th anniversary edition will get a Frozen Dark Silver Metallic exterior with dark chrome accents. It will also receive 20-inch alloy wheels with a jet black finish and dual exhaust pipes with dark chrome.

Changes to the interior include Merino leather and Alcantara seats, an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and dark aluminium trim. We will of course see the model get the 30th anniversary badging on the seats and dashboard and all around the exterior.

The car will also be equipped with the Competition package that includes a sportier suspension, a revised M Dynamic mode and black chrome tailpipes.

The 30th anniversary M5 will get the 4.4-litre twin-turbo which has been tuned to develop 557bhp and 700Nm of torque. We think that it will be connected to a seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission that will have a significant effect on its performance figures. We will wait for BMW to tell us more rather than conjecturing.

The M5 30th anniversary edition will be shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed so we will patiently wait for more developments.
