Harley-Davidson has been quite actively building towards an electric future and even showcased the Project LiveWire concept in 2014 as a preview for what's to come. Moving in the same direction, Harley-Davidson has filed a trademark application to use the name "H-D Revelation" for its upcoming electric motorcycle technology.

Suzuki Motorcycles has filed patents for an AMT gearbox for the new Hayabusa, which could be launched in 2019. The patents were filed in Germany, Japan and USA. Suzuki could also look at fitting the new Hayabusa with turbochargers and a bigger 1,440 cc engine.

Husqvarna Motorcycles sold a record 36,883 motorcycles in 2017, a 20 per cent sales growth over the previous year. Husqvarna is owned by KTM, and Bajaj Auto owns 48 per cent of KTM. Husqvarna bikes are expected to be launched in India by the end of 2018.

Ducati has launched the Scrambler Hashtag in Europe. It is based on the Scrambler Sixty2, which has a 399 cc L-twin engine that makes 40.3 bhp and 34.3 Nm of peak torque.

The three new Harley-Davidson Softail models are likely to be the Softail Slim, the Sport Glide and possibly the Softail Low Rider.
