October has been the festive month that auto manufacturers have been waiting for and Royal Enfield is no less. Looking to cash in on the auspicious period, with consistent sellers like the Classic and Thunderbird series, as well as the all-new Himalayan, did the company manage to find the desired sales performance? Here is Royal Enfield's growth report for October 2016.

The Chennai based bike maker continues to post strong sales figures for the previous month and sold a total of 59,127 motorcycles in domestic and export markets combined. The company grew at a pace of 33 per cent over the same period last year, having sold 44,522 units in October 2015.

On a year-to-date basis, Royal Enfield registered domestic sales of 3,65,529 units, a growth of 34 per cent compared to last year; while exports grew by 58 per cent on a year-on-year basis with 8022 motorcycles shipped since the start of the fiscal.

In addition, Royal Enfield has also extended its base overseas and opened its second exclusive store in Spain. The new outlet is located in Barcelona and is part of the company's foray in the mid-sized motorcycles segment (250-750cc). The manufacturer also opened its third outlet in Valencia, Italy, reaffirming its international plans.

The bike maker has significantly surpassed its sales numbers for 2015 (249 units) and registered a growth of 79 per cent with 305 units shipped by September 2016. With 22 dealerships in the region, Royal Enfield says it is at its optimum network strength in the region.

Meanwhile, Royal Enfield is also working on its larger capacity motorcycle (750cc) that was spotted recently, and is expected to debut by March 2017.
