2022 Yezdi Motorcycle Officially Teased; Launch Expected Soon

- Yezdi teases launch of new brand with tongue-in-cheek social media post
- Yezdi is expected to launch three new models sometime in January 2022
- The new motorcycles will be based on existing Jawa platforms
Classic Legends Private Limited seems all set to re-launch the Yezdi motorcycle brand very soon. The company which manufactures and sells the Jawa motorcycles in India, and recently resurrected the BSA Motorcycle brand in the UK, will be introducing at least two new motorcycle models under the Yezdi brand name. Both the new Yezdi motorcycles will be based on existing Jawa platforms, and one of these bikes are expected to be an adventure touring model, while the other one is expected to be an urban scrambler. A third model, purported to be a roadster, may also be launched, which is likely to be called the Yezdi Roadking.

In a latest social media post, Yezdi seems to have put out a tongue-in-cheek teaser of the upcoming resurrection of the Yezdi motorcycle brand, piggybacking on the latest film on "The Matrix" series.

The Yezdi Adventure is expected to be a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Himalayan, boasting of similar off-road capable, adventure-touring credentials.
In November 2021, Classic Legends launched the official social media handle of the Yezdi motorcycle brand, kick-starting the first step towards re-launching the iconic motorcycle brand. Several spy shots of two different motorcycles, both purported to be introduced under the new Yezdi brand name, had already revealed test mules of the bikes. Those spy shots revealed both an adventure-styled model, as well as an urban scrambler, and trademarks filings also had confirmed the Yezdi name and Yezdi Roadking brands. The trademark filings show the Yezdi name with ownership with Boman Rustom Irani, who originally owned Ideal Jawa India Private Limtied, the manufacturers of the old Yezdi motorcycles.

From what we estimate, the launch of the new Yezdi motorcycle brand is just around the corner, possibly as early as mid-January 2022. In all likelihood, the new Yezdi bikes will be marketed along the existing Jawa retail network, and will also be manufactured on the same assembly line. The two new Yezdi motorcycles are likely to share the basic engine platform with the Jawa Perak, which is powered by a 334 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with 30 bhp and 32.4 Nm. Suspension, chassis and brakes are expected to be slightly different to go with the adventure and scrambler flavours of the Yezdi models. More details will be revealed when the bikes are launched, sometime in mid or late January 2022.
