The 2022 Honda Civic Sedan made its global debut in April this year and now it's time for us to see the new Honda Civic Hatchback. The 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback is all set to break cover On June 23 and the teaser image suggests that it won't look very different than the sedan, save for the hatch that replaces the boot in the sedan version. In terms of styling, the hatchback is likely to be the sportier looking version and it will pretty much have the same design elements.

The new Civic looks good on the inside with digital displays and a sophisticated dash wearing honeycomb-mesh trim spanning its length. It's nicely equipped as well, with an updated version of the Honda Sensing safety suite of systems. It'll likely get a 9.0-inch touchscreen display, a 12-speaker Bose stereo and plenty of luxury items for an executive hatch. It's also likely to share quite a few safety features from the sedan like a single camera and eight sonar sensors. There's also traffic jam assist, low-speed braking control, and front and rear false-start prevention. The car could also get upgraded versions of adaptive cruise control and linear steering from lane-keeping assist. And the new Civic also gets rear-seat side airbags for the first time taking the total number of airbags to 10.

The 2022 Honda Civic sedan is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that develops 158 bhp and 187 Nm of peak torque. A CVT unit sends power to the front wheels. There's also a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol with 180 bhp and 240 Nm of peak torque, putting out 6 bhp and 20 Nm more than the previous generation version. Honda has also tweaked the turbo plumbing and VTEC for the exhaust valves. The turbo motor is paired with a CVT automatic unit. The hatchback is likely to share the powertrain options as well.
