Highlights
- The Euro-spec Kia Sportage is shorter and looks a bit different.
- It gets a new radiator grille up front along with a tweaked bumper.
- The wheelbase stands at 2,680 mm which is 95 mm shorter.
The new-generation Kia Sportage made its debut in June this year. Now the Euro-spec Sportage has been unveiled just days ahead of its first public appearance at the 2021 IAA in Munich. Now it is just a bit different to look at compared to the global-spec model with a new radiator grille with hexagonal mesh pattern, while the front bumper has been tweaked as well making space for a different positioning of the adaptive cruise control radar. Then, the European Kia Sportage is shorter than the global model with shorter rear doors and the smaller rear quarter panel that lacks a window. In terms of dimensions, the wheelbase stands at 2,680 mm which is 95 mm shorter than the global model. The overall length as well is 4,515 mm, making it 145 mm shorter.

On the inside though, the Euro-spec Kia Sportage won't appear much different in terms of layout. The two-screen layout has been carried over without any changes. That said, the GT Line trim gets several sporty tweaks including a flat-bottom and multifunction steering wheel, carbon fibre inserts on the dashboard, and special leather upholstery with white stitching and embroidered GT Line lettering.

Along with the standard Sportage range, Kia will also launch a higher-spec X-line variant, with different bumpers, side sill and a curved roof rack, just like we recently saw on the Seltos Project X. Kia has not revealed complete specifications, engine options or a list of features as of yet and while Kia India does have a strong focus on SUVs, we are unlikely to get the Sportage in India this year.
