2018 Hero HF Dawn gets a BS-4 compliant engine now

The Hero HF Dawn was pulled out of the market last year, in May 2017, because of the fact that the bike wasn't Bharat Stage IV a.k.a. BS-IV compliant. Now, however, the Hero has updated the engine as per current emission norms, but it's the same 97.2 cc, air-cooled, 4-stroke, single cylinder OHC engine as before. The motor makes about 8 bhp at 8000 rpm and develops a peak torque of 8.05 Nm @ 5000 rpm.

In terms of features, the 2018 Hero HF Dawn comes with some minor updates like the auto headlamp on (AHO) function, and a wider seat. On the other hand, the rest of the features and equipment remain unchanged. Being an entry-level commuter bike, the Hero HF Dawn still gets only kick-start function, and the bike still runs of 18-inch spoked wheels, although alloy wheels and an electric starter would have been a nice addition, considering both its rival - the Bajaj CT 100 and TVS Sport, get them. Braking duties are handled by 130 mm drum brake for the front wheel and a 110 mm unit at the rear. Even the suspension setup remains unchanged with telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers up front and dual hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.
