Hyundai Verna Safety Rating: A New Benchmark in Protection

An Introduction to Exemplary Safety

The Hyundai Verna’s safety accolades are the talk of the town, and for good reason. It’s not just a car; it’s a fortress on wheels. The latest round of Global NCAP’s rigorous ‘Safer Cars For India’ crash tests saw the Verna achieving an outstanding five-star rating. This leap in safety standards from previous models underscores Hyundai’s unwavering commitment to passenger protection.

The Ratings Explained

The Verna’s dual five-star ratings for adult and child occupant protection echo the sound of Hyundai’s promise: safety is paramount. Achieving 28.18 out of 34 points for adults and 42 out of 49 for children, the Verna demonstrates that every journey can be a safe journey.

Adult and Child Occupant Protection

From the driver’s seat to the tiny tots in the back, the Verna’s cocoon of safety is robust. While the knees may find the dashboard’s protection marginal, the head and neck can rest assured of superior safeguarding. Despite the bodyshell and footwell area being marked as areas for improvement, the Verna’s shield remains steadfast.

Safety Assist Technologies

- Airbag Ensemble: Six airbags stand guard, ready to deploy their cushioning embrace at a moment’s notice.

- Stability Guides: The electronic stability control and vehicle stability management system are your invisible allies, ensuring that your ride remains unshaken, no matter the road’s surprises.

- Hill Start Assistant: On steep inclines, this feature is like a trusted hand on the back of your car, holding you steady as you transition from brake to accelerator.

- ADAS: This advanced system is like having a vigilant co-pilot; with its array of sensors and radars, it watches over every side of your car, ensuring that your focus remains unbroken.

Motorcyclist Considerations

Recognizing the intertwined paths of cars and motorcycles on Indian roads, the Hyundai Verna includes features aimed at ensuring not just the safety of its occupants but also that of the two-wheeler commuters, contributing to a safer road environment for all.

Verdict of Hyundai Verna

The Verna is reloaded and back. Is there enough here to impress? Yes. Don't get us wrong there could have been more - if you want to be greedy! But for the most part. The car remains one of the most modern, relevant, connected offerings with a huge array of variants to fit many budgets. And a lot of the equipment is standard across variants. The Toyota Yaris has failed to make a dent in this segment, though has its merits.
