What's New?
Over 100 years old, Benelli is easily one of the top ranking manufacturers in the automobile industry. This is an Italian based company that was later owned by the Qianjiang Motor Group in 2005. This Chinese company is further controlled by the Geely Holding Group and has heavily invested in promoting Benelli. the TNT 300 has gained a lot of traction. This bike is a naked-sports roadster that is known to efficiently take on both the city commute as well as long cruises.
It is important to mention that even though Benelli was quite a popular brand in other parts of the world, including Europe, they were not very well-known in the Indian sub-continent. However, all that changed once the TNT 300 was launched. To start with, the ravishing new looks of this bike is enough to grab any bike enthusiasts attention. In addition to that, with Italian invention, the 300 CC engine added to this bike only makes the whole deal a lot better.
It comes in two variants, one which is the standard non-ABS model and the other an ABS version which is RS. 28,000 (pan India ex-showroom price). Based on the market reaction to both the models, the non-ABS version got eventually replaced by the newer ABS model. However, that’s about it. There are not many differences apart from this safety feature between the two TNT 300 models.
That said, there has been a lot done to enhance the ABS feature. It is essentially a dual-channel system that the rider can switch on or off depending on what you are looking out of the ride. There is no denying that ABS is an essential safety feature when it comes to heavy braking or high speeds.
When it comes to the rest of the features or looks, there are not many changes. It carries over the twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, in-line engine that has a capacity of 300 CC. This engine is tuned to provide a maximum power of 37 bhp@ 11,500 rpm along with a peak torque of 26.5 Nm @ 10,000 rpm. When compared to certain other bike models in this segment, these numbers are quite impressive and hold a lot of value.
Further adding to it are the 6-speed gearbox, USD forks in the front and a mono-shock setup in the rear for suspension and a comfortable ride. The brakes feature a dual 260 mm petal disc in the front while the rear gets a single 240 mm disc brake. Only by the stats mentioned here you can understand that this bike is made for performance, but also kept in mind the needs and safety of an average daily rider. The 17-inch alloy wheels come shod with Metzeler tyres which again make the control and stability of this bike top-notch.
