What's New?
The new Revolt RV 400 features the 3 kW of an electric motor having 170 Nm of instant torque as well as a lithium-ion battery of 3.24kW. Its frame happens to be a single-cradle that comes with 37 mm upside-down forks. Additionally, it features an adjustable rear mono-shock, a bolt-on sub-frame, and, not to forget, an aluminumswingarm.
Factually, the new RV 400 is available in two different color variants. While one happens to be a base variant, another is the premium variant. Just like the Revolt RV 300, its base variant misses out on the immobilizer, push start, sound simulator system, and remote key.
Talking about the base variant, the all-new Revolt RV 400 can be bought at a cost-effective price. You can also opt for monthly payments worth Rs. 7,999 for around 36 months. For this, you need to give a total of Rs. 5,000 for the 4G connectivity.
The technical features of this premium variant are identical to its base variant. However, the premium model gets added features than that of the base variant. It includes a three-year 4G connectivity package.
The total cost of the model is Rs. 1,54,950. However, for an additional cost, this model gets an excellent bike immobilizer. Besides this, it also includes a remote key, sound simulator system, and push start. Its premium variant includes the one-time tier replacement within 3-years of ownershipin its total pricing.
Revolt RV400 Expert Review
Pros
- India's first AI enabled electric motorcycle
- Good range of 156 km in eco mode
- Decent performance
Cons
- Low front end feedback
- Could have had better build quality
- Expensive
Revolt Intellicorp is one of the first movers in the electric motorcycle space in India. The Revolt RV 400 is a commendable product, despite its design and technological origins; whether it has been completely developed in India, or based on an existing Chinese platform. Primarily targeted at the lower end commuter segment, the RV 400 is quite a likeable electric motorcycle, and it ticks all the right boxes to be used as an urban, intra-city motorcycle.
Revolt RV 400
The Revolt RV 400 is one of the most attractive motorcycles in its class. This is one of the early pioneers of the EV segment in the country.
How is the design?
The Revolt RV 400 offers a striking design which is quite different from its regular counterparts. There is a neat design for the headlamp with its LED daytime running lamp as well. The size is compact and the seating position is also neatly done. The lack of mass may seem quite in-your-face at times through. The seat height stands at 814 mm and it sports a more youthful and contemporary look and feel.
How does it perform?
The Revolt RV 400 is fast and responsive and there are riding modes for boosting performance levels and responses alike. This begins from Mode 1 and in the Mode 3, it is quite similar to the Ather 450. It also comfortably touches speeds of 85 kmph and generates 50 Nm of maximum torque at the same time. However, you cannot really expect speed or performance like a Royal Enfield motorcycle for instance. The company can still do some work to reduce noise and vibrations while riding and the opening up of the accelerator should have had a better response. There is abrupt delivery of power across all riding modes and this may hinder cornering at times as well. This could also hinder riding amidst congested traffic.
What’s the Range?
The Revolt RV 400 has a claimed range of 156 km for Mode 1 with a top speed of 14 kmph. The Mode 2 will ensure 110 km with a top speed of 60 kmph and the Mode 3 will have a top speed of 85 kmph and a range of 80 km.
How is the riding Experience?
The Revolt RV 400 offers good ride and handling with its tubular frame and the robust swingarm. The 37 mm USD fork and 17-inch wheels work well to keep the bike stable and planted most of the time. The sporty ride is not without its share of comfort. There is decent rider confidence on most roads and this is one of the biggest plus points, considering that it is light and manageable at 108 kg. The MRF Nylogrips also help in enhancing the fun riding dynamic while there are 240 mm disc brakes for both ends along with CBS. Braking performance is also good enough.
Tech and features
Revolt RV 400 comes with several features including three riding modes and they may be chosen via a right-hand-side slider button. There is also keyless-start where you can use the power button without using the key. The display is also simple and highly functional while the high-beam switch is used for toggling between these modes. There is also an artificial note for the exhaust which may be powered by a dedicated button through a speaker. There is an app for the bike and the bike may be started via the same with an e-SIM installed as well. This is connected to the internet and there is also compatibility via voice commands with Google Assistant. The app can establish geo-fencing barriers and the bike will not function beyond these limits. You can also choose from four sounds of the exhaust while tracking the battery and vehicle data on a real-time basis while ordering a battery as a replacement.
Battery Capacity and Electric Motors
There is a 19kg lithium-ion 3.24 kW battery and the charging time will take 4.5 hours from empty. It will ensure that the battery touches 75%. There is a mid drive 3 kW electric motor that makes 170 Nm and it pairs with this 72V battery.
Safety Equipment
There is CBS with disc brakes at both ends. There is also the side safety stand.
What’s the warranty on battery?
The battery warranty now stands at 1,00,000 kilometres and six years.
Which Two-wheelers compete in the segment?
There are several competing models in this category including the Ather 450X and the TVS iQube along with the Ola S1 Pro. These are some of the electric two-wheelers creating a buzz in the market at present.
Verdict (Is it value for money)
The Revolt RV 400 does make for an enticing proposition if you think about its overall performance, decent range, design, plethora of tech features, and unique styling. The price point is competitive since you have to subscribe for a certain period without any down payment, rental, or lease. The vehicle ownership will be given to buyers although smaller amounts will have to be paid accordingly. The company also offers a handsome battery warranty, while making EV ownership as easy as possible.

The Quality of bike is very poor. the product used in the bike are like a toy which is not reliable. ( MC, charger, Battery plug, remote, sensor, remote) the Mattel use in the bike is rusting. After sale service is very bad. if a part replacement and repair waiting time is 15-30 days. I am using this bike from 10 month and face multiple fault ( 6 fault) Don't buy this toy for road ride. its waste of money

Sunil needs to be replaced
By Mark @ Jun 18, 2022 11:52 AM
1.0
Decided to go viral : My name is Mark David Verghese and I work and live in Bangalore, India. So here's something to ponder and consider before you make a purchase of the Revolt RV 400. I had the terrible misfortune of having booked and fully paid for the electric bike. 1. For one, the delivery of the bike is delayed and after claiming 100% amounts in advance 2. BUT, what I found ridiculous is the following facts: Did you know they TRY and sell you an insurance cover, which is much higher priced? Well, they do and so I got my own insurance and they had to minus the amounts, which they would have otherwise charged Did you know they literally force down your throats a Sub-standard helmet, which is much higher priced, than any helmet currently available I the market? Now here is what baffled me no ends ! The dictator (Mr. Sunil / 9632995555) running the Revolt showroom, at Koramangala, Bangalore, tells me that, he will NOT deliver my bike unless I, either take the Revolt sub-standard helmet at a higher price OR produce a recent invoice showing purchase of a helmet. Anyways, since I did not like or want the Revolt helmet, I proceeded to make a purchase of a helmet I liked. Then I am told that, I need to give them a 'printed' tax invoice. Now the attachment is the Tax Invoice which the seller was able to generate; but according to Sunil, this won't do. Basically he tells me, via Whatsapp messaging that, 'he does not have the time for talks like this…' and that, he will NOT deliver my bike unless I produce a different helmet invoice. I even asked Sunil to reconsider, stating that I will escalate across media; to which he actually retorts that, "I know all the media". SO when did a start-up Brand in India dictate which helmet I need to use? What happens if someone already has a better helmet. They cannot get the bike? When was it that, a start-up Brand began forcing us customers to buy anything? This seems unlawful and must be addressed immediately. Last but not the least, I do believe a Brand will achieve far more with someone better equipped and knowledgeable than Sunil. Many thanks Warm Regards, Mark David Verghese Group Account Director WINGS BRAND ACTIVATIONS (I) PVT. LTD. Fraud company provides bookings at non existent location
By Kishore Raheja @ May 31, 2022 03:36 PM
1.0
Revolt motors is a fraud company. They provided booking to me in december 2021 at navi mumbai hub and promised delivery by march-april 2022.All questions regarding booking to their customer support wer e redirected to say my delivery date is not yet near so dealership will contact you near delivery date. After delivery date was past, Upon contact with revolt motors, Customer service agents finally admitted they have no dealership operating in navi mumbai and my booking is indefinitely delayed. They keep lying repeatedly asking me to wait few more days.I contacted revolt motors to change my booking from non existent navi mumbai hub to actual mumbai hub in andheri which is 45 minutes from where i live.Revolt motors failed to transfer the booking to mumbai hub despite my offer to pay for the bike in full without financing. The mumbai hub has a telephone number that is always switched off.Mumbai hub offered to pursue my booking if i pay them in advance in full and then wait for them to deliver me my bike. However revolt motors customer service representatives stated motorcycle will not be issued unless they transfer the hub for my booking and then failed to do the hub transfer.I urge everyone to recognize this company may be pulling a scam by taking peoples booking amounts and delivering nothing.I tried to cancel my booking online and have been directed to contact navi mumbai dealer for cancellation- a dealer that does not exist - a fact revolt motors is well aware of, Yet continues to provide bookings and references to non existent location.
