New Mini Cooper S (Petrol) Launched at Rs 34.65 Lakh in India

BMW India today rolled out the performance-oriented Mini Cooper S (3-door petrol) in the Indian market at Rs 34.65 lakh (ex-showroom). The new range Mini's diesel models, however, were already launched in November 2014 in both three and five-door configurations.
Powering this model is a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, twinturbo petrol unit that is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 192bhp and a peak torque of 280Nm. Mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the Mini Cooper S touches 100kmph mark from stand still in only 6.7 seconds, with a top-speed of 233kmph. The Cooper S is claimed to return an impressive 18.2kmpl of mileage.
The vehicle is based on the same, UKL front-wheel drive platform, that will also underpin the new-gen BMW 1-Series. The Cooper S also gets a new front suspension and revised rear suspension.
Talking about dimensions, the Cooper S measures 3,821mm in length, 1,414mm in height, 1,727mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,495mm. The company will also offer several customisation options for the wheels, decals, roof and interiors.
