New Generation Ford Figo's Production Version Revealed
Highlights
Ford, the American automajor, has revealed the production version of the Ka hatchback today, ahead of its expected unveiling post FIFA world cup in Brazil. The same car will also make its way to India as the next-generation Figo in 2015. The concept of the car was showcased last year in November.
Ford Brazil has updated its official website with the images of the new hatchback, which gives us a clear idea of how the new-gen model will look. The car looks largely similar to the concept model, except for the changes made to the grille. While the concept had chrome plated horizontal slats, the production version has a honeycomb grille. The headlamp too has received different mirror element, though the design has remained unchanged.

The Brazilian market will get a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol mill, capable of churning out 85bhp, while running on gasoline and ethanol. But in India, the car might continue coming with the existing engine options - 1.4-litre diesel and 1.2-litre petrol. If rumours are to be believed, Ford India might also launch the new-gen Figo with the 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine that also powers the EcoSport.
