Mitsubishi to Bid Farewell to Lancer Evolution With a Special Edition

The reports of Mitsubishi looking to pull the plug on Lancer Evolution first started pouring in a couple of months back, but we were reassured that the car will live through at least 2015. Now word has it that the Evo will indeed take our leave, albeit stylishly. Reports claim that Mitsubishi will send off the Evo with a Special Action Model, whose production will be limited to 2,000 - 2,500 units.

The Evo X Special Action Model's 2.0-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder motor will be tuned for more power, though we do not have the exact figures yet. The car will most probably sport a handful of other performance tweaks too. That said, the car will be sold only in the United States.
