Kawasaki is planning to launch their most affordable bike Z250 in the Indian market by June 2014. Kawasaki launched five new bikes in 2013 and has plans to roll out few more this year. The Kawasaki Z250 looks similar to the Z800, which is again a naked streetbike. The headlight and tank design have been directly taken from the Z800.

The bike looks inspired from the Ninja 300 as well, as it has the identical tail section and alloy wheels. The instrument console too looks similar to the Ninja 300, with an analogue tachometre and an LCD screen displaying speed, trip and fuel level information.

While the design looks a combination of the Ninja 300 and Z800, mechanically, it's similar to the phased-out Ninja 250R. The Z250 sources it power from the 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor, which is capable of churning out a maximum power output of 33bhp at 11,000rpm, while yielding a good 21Nm of peak torque at 9,000rpm.  Transmitting power to the rear wheel is a six-speed gearbox, which is again the same found under the Ninja 250R.

What will help the engine return an improved fuel efficiency is the fuel-injection system and dual throttle valve technology. With a nimble handling character, upright riding position and wide handlebar, the Z250 will offer an ideal position to its rider to ride through city traffic and on freeways.
