Ford Builds Their 5 Millionth EcoBoost Model
Highlights
Ford has built the 5-millionth model to be equipped with an EcoBoost engine. The red Focus rolled off the assembly line last week at the company's Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne and featured a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder EcoBoost engine.
The achievement comes nearly six years after the first EcoBoost engine was launched in the Taurus SHO in 2009. Ford has offered EcoBoost engines across their entire passenger vehicle line up. The engine is an exceptionally capable one and that is one of the reasons why it won the International Engine of the Year Award last year.
The company has introduced India too to its capable 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine but it is currently only available in the EcoSport model. However, we will soon see more cars from Ford India being equipped with the EcoBoost engine.
In the EcoSport, this 999cc engine manages to churn out 123bhp and a massive 170Nm torque but it does come at a price. Available only in the top-end Titanium variant the EcoSport with the 1.0-litre engine is priced at Rs. 9.70 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi)
Ford is coming out with new models for India namely the all-new Figo and the Figo sedan and we hope to them get this exceptional engine with the small displacement but high on power.
