Daimler Launches Made-in-India FUSO Trucks in Zimbabwe

    Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. LTD (DICV) with Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, Japan (MFTBC), launched Daimler's made-in-India truck in Zimbabwe. With the launch these trucks, Zimbae has become the 4th African market for Daimler India since the start of export in May 2013.

    ZIMOCO, will be the exclusive dealer in Zimbabwe, which will take care of distribution in the country. The company says that these trucks are already on sale in the markets like Kenya, Sri Lanka, Zambia and Tanzania, and there will be more markets added in Africa and Asia.

    DICV at its Orgadam Plant manufactures 5 models spanning Medium/Heavy-duty (25 - 49 tonnes referred to as 'FJ', 'FO' & 'FZ') and Light/Medium-duty (9 - 16 tonnes referred to as 'FA' & 'FI'). The company expects to see a rise in the sales of FUSO range, which already has its presence in over 35 markets, and almost doubled its sales in the first quarter of 2014 to 2,00 units.
