Highlights

Hyundai has been working on the new-generation i20, which the South Korean automaker will launch globally including India. The vehicle has already been doing test runs for quite sometime now. The final version of the car might be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Taking its design inspiration from the popular Fluidic design philosophy, the vehicle will look like an extended version of the Grand i10.

Having a long wheeler, the car will offer more spacious cabin than the existing i20. Inside the cabin, the car might feature a dual-colour shade and additional features. While in global markets, the car might be offered with different engine options, in India, the car might retain the existing line-up of powertrains. The engines that are being offered with the car are 1.2-litre Kappa 2 petrol and 1.4-litre diesel, capable of producing 83 PS and 90 PS, respectively. Moreover, the five-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic transmission gearbox with the petrol mill, and the six-speed manual gearbox will continue to be on offer.

The car is expected to come to India by early 2015, followed by its launch in European countries. However, the company hasn't officially commented anything on this.
