Highlights

In an earlier story, we informed our readers that Fiat India will launch three products this year - Aventura Crossover, 500 Abarth and Punto facelift. Of the three products, Fiat has already unveiled the Avventura Crossover and 500 Abarth, while the 2014 Punto is on test and has been spotted several times. But now, the Italian automajor has accidentally leaked the picture of the 2014 Punto during a presentation. The same day Fiat Chrysler also revealed its five years plans for India.

The picture given above is the cropped version of the presentation, which gives us a much clearer idea about the changes the Punto facelift will come up with. The Front fascia of the Punto facelift looks to have taken its inspiration from the Avventura Concept showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. The car in its new avatar gets new blacked out headlamps and a rounded corned rectangular shaped grille. Moreover, the car has received a revised bumper with trapezoidal shaped fog lamp with chrome-lined housing. The side profile of the updated Punto remains almost unchanged, though the new set of alloy wheels give it a sporty appeal.

Though, there are no interior images, we expected the car to have similar updates that we saw in the 2014 Linea facelift. The changes expected inside the cabin are revised centre console, new upholstery and dual-tone dashboard.

There will be no changes under the hood, since it will just be a mid-life makeover of the car. So, expect the Punto Facelift to carry over the engine options from the current Punto - 1.2-litre petrol, 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine, all coupled to a five-speed manual transmission.

Fiat Punto facelift is expected to be launched by the end of this year.
