2014 Auto Expo: Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 Makes its Indian Debut
Highlights
General Motors showcased the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C7 at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo. Offered both in the convertible and coupe form, the Corvette Stingray C7 is a completely new vehicle, as it has improved on exterior, interior and engine performance.
The large airdam with embossed Corvette signature, and Bi-Xenon headlamps with LED turn signals and chrome inserts highlight the sporty and outgoing personality of the car. The aluminium body frame is claimed to be 57 percent stiffer and 45kg lesser in weight than the regular steel frame. This helps vehicle become more fuel efficient and better in driving dynamics. Despite the structural changes, the features, performance technology and engine are carried forward to the Corvette Stingray C7 coupe from the convertible.
The folding top and re-positioned safety belt mounts are the major alterations made to the coupe. The new Corvette Stingray C7 comes powered with a new LT1 6.2-litre V-8 engine that produces a peak power output of 450bhp, with 610Nm of torque.
Other vehicles showcased by GM at the expo are new Chevrolet Beat, Adra compact crossover, Camaro ZL1 and several others.
