Upgrades In Retrospect

The grey that was initially planned appears to have made it onto the palette, along with red and chrome. Although similar to the new Interceptor 650, it is possibly a tribute to the Bullet AVL's colours. The arrangement is also a step forward from the previous model, with the analogue speedometer taking the limelight.

The motor and the swingarm are changed and there are disc brakes – both in the front and at the back. With a host of additional alterations, everything does come together to create a stunning motorcycle. The tank is featured as an inheritance of the classic bikes of RE, along with shrouded telescopic forks, and the nacelle that houses the instruments. The small metal peak above the headlamp is a memoir to the vintage Royal Enfield, all totems of their motorcycling past, and all ideal allusions to what came before.

What RE fans love about the new classic is the acceleration and pickup that has improved significantly, taking about 6.4 seconds to go from 0 to 60 Kmph and 15.9 seconds to go from 0 to 100 Kmph. It offers a displacement of 349cc and maximum torque of 27 Nm.

The beast is exceptionally comfortable to handle. The fingers have great grip with the clutch and brake levers for RE fans to have long drives in the wilderness. The brake system is fantastic, giving you much confidence to ride through the roughs and rounds. Acceleration is so mild that it appeals to your tranquil side. The new engine feels a lot smoother and it doesn't vibrate even at 100 km/hr. The military-grade construction needs applause, which is not even an exaggeration. The suspension is significantly better than other Royal Enfield bikes. Despite BS6, the feel of the thump has been kept and it is now even more prominent. New features include an accurate fuel gauge that might make your heart skip a beat, a trip metre, a tripper pod, and hazard lights. It simply completes a biker's vivid imagination.
