India Yamaha Motor Private Limited has launched the Yamaha RayZR Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Edition, priced at Rs. 81,330 (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The new RayZR MotoGP Edition gets cosmetic updates, with the Yamaha MotoGP branding on the scooter's body panels. On the mechanical front, the special edition scooter shares the same powertrain with the new RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid and Fascino 125 Fi Hybrid, with the 125 cc Hybrid Power Assist, fuel-injected, Blue Core engine. The single-cylinder, 125 cc, air-cooled engine develops 8 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 10.3 Nm at 5,000 rpm.

The RayZR MotoGP Edition shares the same underpinnings with the 2021 Yamaha RayZR 125 Fi Hybrid, which has prices starting at Rs. 76,830 for the drum brake variant.

Like the rest of the Yamaha hybrid scooter range, the RayZR Monster Energy MotoGP edition also comes with the Smart Motor Generator (SMG) system, which functions as an electric motor to give a power assist when accelerating from a stop. The SMG also serves as a motor by reversing the direction of electricity release, providing benefits that include a Quiet Engine Start System and Automatic Stop & Start System. RayZR 125 Fi also comes equipped with Side Stand Engine Cut off Switch which is a standard and mandatory feature for all Yamaha two wheelers in India.

The RayZR Monster Yamaha MotoGP Edition also gets 21 litres of underseat storage space, and is one of the lightest scooters in its segment with a kerb weight of 98 kg. Fuel tank capacity is 5.2 litres, and ground clearance is quoted at 145 mm. The RayZR rides on a 12-inch front wheel and 10-inch front wheel combination, and gets a front disc brake, with a drum on the rear wheel, with standard unified braking system (UBS). The Yamaha Motorcycle Connect X Bluetooth connectivity system is available as an accessory.
