The confirmation from Yamaha comes as a major boost to the event after fears last year's cancellation could deter two-wheeler manufacturers from returning to this year's event. EICMA is considered the leading annual gathering of the industry's major manufacturers and traders. Most brands unveil and make the world premiere of a series of new models at the EICMA show every year. After the cancellation of the 2020 EICMA show, many manufacturers turned to online methods to launch their 2021 ranges.

In fact, BMW Motorrad announced earlier this year, that the brand will no longer participate in international events like the EICMA, held in Milan, or the Intermot, held in Cologne, Germany. Instead, BMW Motorrad has announced that the company will move to digital events, organised virtually as well as privately hosted events to showcase new products. Nevertheless, most manufacturers have chosen to participate at the 2021 EICMA show, and Yamaha has now confirmed its presence at this year's show, saying it's "right" to do its bit to strengthen an event that has become an institution for the global two-wheeler industry over the decades.
