  • Cold weather, or issues with the alternator can lead no ignition
  • A clogged fuel filter can lead to this situation too.
  • The most obvious reason is that you have an empty fuel tank.

We have all been using our personal cars fewer times than we normally did before the global pandemic situation prevailed. With less usage comes a great number of other problems, even with newer cars. Batteries might go dead, junk might accumulate in the brake filters or fuel filters, we might forget to refuel our vehicles due to erratic usage, and the ignition switch might be having some issues connecting with the battery. Let's take a look at the most common reasons for our cars not starting up.

Old batteries tend to drain out faster than newer ones, and cold weather can speed up the process much more. Regular usage keeps the battery alive, but if it dies, the headlights will become weaker and the engine will have trouble starting up until everything on the screen goes blank and even the engine refuses to rev up. Roadside assistance services can help charge the battery.

In the event that the fuel filter is jammed or clogged due to sludge or junk, the fuel does not reach the engine, because of which the car refuses to start. Changing fuel filters during servicing of the vehicles as and when advised is the most.

If you are using a car that comes with a remote and a fob to access the vehicle, it might be the case that the fob's battery has died. It is usually a pair of lithium batteries that go at the back, and changing those can resolve the issue.

An alternator is what keeps recharging the battery when the car is running. So, a bad alternator can lead to a situation where the battery is fine, but during the run, it either doesn't get enough ammunition to recharge itself or leads to overheating due to excess flow of electric current, thereby leading to an ultimate shutdown of the car. A repair of the alternator can get us out of the situation.
