These are some of the must-have documents you should have with you on a road trip. Always carry the valid, original copies along with a few photocopies of the documents. If not renewed, then get the documents renewed before heading out on the trip.

FASTag

If you are taking a road trip in India, you will have to pay toll taxes on highways. The faster and cheaper way to pay these taxes is the FASTag. Nearly all toll stations have tag readers as well as dedicated FASTag lanes. You can also opt to go through Cash lanes, but they are both time-consuming and expensive.

SNACKS AND WATER

Even though there are many dhabas and stalls present on the highways, you should always carry some light snacks and drinking water on your trip. Frequently stopping at highway restaurants or stalls can prove to be time-consuming. Therefore, stock up on your supply of food and drinks beforehand.

PUNCTURE KIT AND AIR PUMP

Given the condition of some highway roads, mishaps with the wheels can happen at any time. Therefore, it is a sensible option to carry a puncture kit to repair minor punctures, as well as an air pump, to refill a deflated tire.
